WordPress plugin
Connect WordPress to your CDN in minutes
The free MariCDN plugin points your site's static files at your CDN. No code, and no changes to your theme.
What the plugin does
Rewrites your asset addresses
Images, CSS, JavaScript and fonts in wp-content and wp-includes load from your CDN hostname instead of your server.
Preview
Check your site on the CDN before switching it on for everyone.
Automatic fallback
If the CDN stops answering, or your plan is paused or out of bandwidth, your site switches to its own files by itself, and back to the CDN when it recovers.
One-click purge
Purge everything empties the CDN cache, from MariCDN → Settings, the admin bar or WP-CLI. Media you replace, edit or delete is purged by itself.
Stats
Your CDN traffic for the last 7 days and 12 months, under MariCDN → Stats.
Works with caching plugins
Tested with popular caching and optimization plugins. See the list.
You choose what's included
Set the file types and folders the CDN should serve.
HTTPS
Works with your CDN hostname over HTTPS.
Lightweight
Small, clean code that does one job.
Set it up in five steps
Install the plugin
In WordPress, go to Plugins → Add Plugin, search for “MariCDN”, then install and activate MariCDN by MariHost.
Open the settings
Go to MariCDN → Settings. It's the plugin's own menu, below Settings.
Add your connection key
Paste the connection key from your welcome email, and save. The plugin gets your CDN hostname, such as yoursite.maricdn.net, from it. Lost the key? Open your plan in My account → Subscriptions and press Regenerate key. The old key stops working at once.
Test it
Run the check, turn on Preview, and check that your pages look right and your images load.
Go live
Press Go live. Your visitors now get your files from the CDN.
You'll need a MariCDN plan first. Start free.
Plugin questions
Do I need a MariCDN account?
Yes. The plugin connects your site to your MariCDN plan, so sign up first. The free plan is fine.
Which folders are served from the CDN?
wp-content and wp-includes by default. You can change this under MariCDN → Settings → Advanced.
Are PHP files sent to the CDN?
No. PHP files are always left out, for security.
Does it work with caching plugins?
Yes. It only changes the addresses of your static files, so it works alongside page caching plugins. See the plugins we test with.
How do I clear the CDN cache?
Press Purge everything in MariCDN → Settings, choose Purge CDN cache in the admin bar, or run wp maricdn purge. Media you replace, edit or delete is purged by itself.
What does it need?
WordPress 6.9 or newer, and PHP 7.4 or newer.
